About this tour
In Betty’s Bay, get lost in the floral kingdom of the Harold Porter Natural Botanical Gardens – as part of the only biosphere in South Africa. Experience the greatest plant species per square kilometer and spot tortoises, baboons and otters among other friendly fauna.
Bask in the eclectic and heavenly town of Hermanus – the best land-based whale watching destination in the world. If in season, opt for a boat ride to take you even closer to the wonderful whale life that bellows just beyond the shores. And if these aquatic marvels are spotted, hear the only whale-crier in the world blow his kelp horn in celebration.
We make our way back into Cape Town via the lush apple orchards and vineyards of glorious Grabouw and witness firsthand just why this is the commercial centre and largest fruit exporting area in the country.
If informal fine wine-tasting is not enough to wind you down from the day’s prolific events, then the Sir Lowry’s Pass route back into the city, with its magnificent mountain range, is bound to be the ideal backdrop to a day of grand adventure.
